Duryog Nivaran as part of the Gender Stakeholder Group for Asia Pacific DRR (GSHG) in solidarity with Draw the Line Campaign

Draw the Line is a global campaign calling for urgent action against the socio-economic inequalities and injustices that have fueled the climate crisis. As climate impacts become increasingly severe and extreme, the burden falls disproportionately on the most marginalized communities, especially in the Global South, including Asia and the Pacific.

The campaign brings together communities, movements, and organizations demanding an end to inequality, tyranny, genocide, destruction, and chaos, and calling instead for rights, jobs, justice, democracy, and a fulfilling life on a safe planet.

Draw the Line campaign is a global week of actions from 15–21 September, with a key mobilization day on 17 September. The Women and Gender Constituency (WGC), who is one of the leading organizers of the campaign, is mobilizing feminist resistance gatherings across the world and raising feminist demands for climate justice.

In solidarity with this global mobilization, the Gender Stakeholder Group for Asia Pacific DRR (GSHG) is convening a regional level gathering. In this gathering, various organizations will be sharing about their community-level gatheirngs and demands. The discussion will also reflect on how feminist movements intersect with the climate justice agenda and how these demands will shape collective advocacy efforts leading up to COP30 and beyond.
