Duryog Nivaran is participating in the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR), in Australia, partnering with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). The APMCDRR at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 19-22 September 2022.
Convened by UNDRR, the APMCDRR is the main regional platform in Asia-Pacific for promoting coordination and cooperation on DRR and the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. It brings together UN Member States, intergovernmental organizations, international and national organizations and stakeholder groups, to accelerate progress on disaster risk reduction.
“Learning Lab – Gender Considerations in DRR – An All-of Government Approach to Inclusive DRR Governance” is one of the main session which DN is actively taking part in the conference. The session is focusing on Gender-responsive DRR underlined in the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction as a necessary condition for effective DRR outcomes for community resilience building, other global frameworks emphasize on gender-responsive climate actions as a non-negotiable requirement, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to DRR in Governments in Asia and the Pacific region and paroral important interest areas in the discussion.
