E-discussion series on gender inclusion and women’s leadership in planning and implementing of the Sendai Framework
The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 was adopted at the Third UN World Conference in Sendai, Japan, on March 18, 2015. It is supported by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) at the request of the UN General Assembly.The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) recognizes the importance of gender-dimensions in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).
Duryog Nivaran - a research, training and advocacy network committed to promoting disaster risk reduction at policy and community level - will be hosting a series of discussions on Gender inclusion and women’s leadership in Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) in Asia.
In order to provide some guidance to the governments and stakeholders in converting these commitments into practice, UNISDR Asia Partnership (IAP) Stakeholder Group on Gender Equality and Women’s Concerns in DRR is inviting for recommendations and proposals for developing a guidance note on the subject.
